Industrial dehumidification systems for removing excess moisture from pharmaceutical storage areas, cold rooms, warehouses, museums, archives, production facilities, and basements. Two technologies: refrigerant dehumidifiers for temperatures above 15 degrees C (efficient for warm humid spaces), and desiccant dehumidifiers for low-temperature cold rooms and very low RH requirements below 30 percent. Capacity range 20-500 litres per day. Applications: pharmaceutical raw material stores requiring below 40 percent RH, cold storage rooms, museum and archive preservation, electronics assembly areas, basement waterproofing, printing and paper stores. Ultrasonic humidifiers require softened water (hardness <50 ppm as CaCO₃) or RO-purified water to prevent calcium carbonate scale deposition on the piezoelectric elements, which reduces output and damages the transducers. Standard mains water in hard water areas must pass through a water softener before entering the humidifier.
Refrigerant-type dehumidifiers operate effectively down to approximately 10°C ambient temperature — below this, the refrigerant coil ices up and efficiency drops sharply. For cold rooms operating below 10°C (0–8°C), a desiccant rotary wheel dehumidifier is the correct technology and is available from Ozone India Technology.
Ultrasonic humidifiers require monthly cleaning of the water reservoir and transducer plate with dilute citric acid (1%, 30 minutes) to remove mineral deposits. The water inlet strainer should be cleaned monthly. Transducer elements have a rated life of 10,000–15,000 operating hours and are replaceable as a service item.
